Setting the Nordic Agenda: Participation and Inclusion for Children and Young People in the Nordic Region in the Shadow of the Pandemic
– Why have children and young people not been involved and what action can be taken?
The Nordic countries have strong traditions of promoting the well-being of children by emphasizing the right to inclusion and participation for all. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged this. Welfare services have been less accessible, and schools and leisure time activities have been closed or heavily restricted.
Join us at the Nordic Day for a discussion on how the participation and social inclusion of children and young people was affected during the crisis and what lessons can be learned for the future. You will get opportunity to network and share your experience with colleagues from the Nordics and Europe. Nordic youth will provide insight into why involvement would have made a huge difference. Useful practice will be highlighted and shared. We also introduce you to promising practice for inclusion of children and families with immigrant backgrounds.
