Identifying peoples’ unique skills for better support in navigating the labour market and finding relevant jobs and education opportunities emerged as a promising way for solving labour market mobility challenges. Beneficiaries of this approach include people who have fled Ukraine, who learn the value of their past experiences for the labour market in their new communities. At the ESN conference in Antwerp, SkillLab will present projects in European municipalities and with the Ukrainian State Employment Service.
In today’s dynamic job market, identifying and leveraging a person’s unique skills is crucial for successful integration. This is especially true for displaced populations, like refugees from Ukraine, who may possess valuable skills not readily recognized by traditional methods. Together with partners from across the globe, SkillLab develops solutions to empower individuals to bridge the gap between their skills and local job market demands. The ESN conference provides a platform to share successful approaches and foster collaboration in supporting integration efforts across Europe.
SkillLab will be present in the exhibitor area and present their work on Wednesday 26th June at 13:45 in the Innovation Zone. The presentation is titled “Skills-Based Labour Market Mobility”, and will delve into examples how technology equips individuals with the tools to unlock their hidden potential and navigate the job market more effectively.
Specific case studies include a pilot project with the Ukrainian State Employment Service. This project, conducted as a Randomised Control Trial, which yielded impressive results, including:
- Significant increase in improvement in employment outcomes for participants compared to the control group.
- Strong reduction in time to hire for employers who utilised SkillLab’s platform.
These outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of technology in facilitating faster and more successful integration into the labour market. The presentation will explore how this approach can be applied to empower individuals facing labour market challenges, particularly those from Ukraine seeking to rebuild their careers in Europe.
SkillLab is excited to participate in the upcoming ESN conference in Antwerp, a valuable opportunity to share our expertise in facilitating successful labour market integration through innovative technology, and learn from leading social service providers across Europe.
