Mayte is responsible for the Ageing and Dependency Observatory, and is a national expert on ageing and social protection in the OECD and Council of Europe.

She is the current General Director of Imserso (Institute for Older People and Social Services) and in addition, is the Scientific Director of the Matia Gerontological Institute and the Planning Director of the Matia Foundation.

Mayte is a Graduate in Psychology (Complutense University of Madrid) and has obtained a Master’s degree in Social Gerontology (Autonomous University of Madrid).
