Dr. Becky Faith is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. She is an international expert in research and strategy on the use of mobile phones by marginalised communities. Her recent research explores the challenges faced by digitally excluded communities in accessing digitised welfare systems, both in the UK and in humanitarian crises around the world.
Becky’s broader professional experience and research interests encompass gender and technology, mobile communication studies, human computer interaction and technology for social change. Prior to becoming an academic Becky worked for fifteen years in development and digital rights organisations, developing innovative campaigning and advocacy materials.
