Since 2020 Alberte B. Burgaard has been Chief Director of Welfare at the municipality of Ishøj. Before that she was head of Department for Social Services for homeless, citizens with mental health problems and alcohol and substance abusers in the City of Copenhagen. From 2001 to 2006 when she was head of her section in the City of Copenhagen, she also represented Copenhagen in an EU program on Safe Cities. Alberte B. Burgaard is Master of Public Administration from Roskilde University (2002) and studied in 1999 Social Security Systems in Europe at Tilburg University, Netherlands.
