After graduating with a sociology degree, Alessandra Locatelli worked for several years in support, care, education, and reception of adults with intellectual disabilities. She was the director of a Community Housing facility in Como. During her political career, she has been Councillor for social policies and Deputy mayor in Como, Councillor for social and family policies for the Region of Lombardy, and member of the Italian Parliament. Since 22 October 2022, she has been Minister for Disabilities.
