Biography
Annette Poulsen has been a member of the Aarhus City Council since 2014. Since 2024 Anette has been Alderman for the Department of Social Affairs and Employment where she is responsible for the city’s services for unemployed citizens, citizens with disabilities, homeless citizens, citizens with mental health issues, etc.
She has been a member of the Social and Employment Committee, Health and Care Committee, Committee for Forced Removal of Children, and has served as Deputy Mayor.
With her background as a nurse and Area Manager in the Department of Health and Care, Anette has a special focus on how preventive social interventions can improve lives for citizens.
For example: How can preventive measures ensure that a disadvantaged childhood does not evolve into an adulthood marked by social issues? And how can education and employment initiatives work as effective social interventions that help prevent loneliness, isolation, and social vulnerability?
