Efthymios Chatzitheoklitos studied Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a PhD from the same University. After specialising in General Surgery in Athens, he pursued further training in England, Germany, and Switzerland. He has worked as an attending surgeon at various Hospitals in Thessaloniki. In 2003, he was appointed Chief of Surgery at St. Dimitrios Hospital of Thessaloniki, and since 2014, he is the Director of the 3rd Surgical Clinic at Interbalkan Medical Center. He has served as President of the Surgical Society of Northern Greece and the Hellenic Society of Gastrointestinal Surgery. Additionally, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Medical Association of Thessaloniki and President of the Association of Hospital Doctors of Northern Greece.

Beyond his medical career, he has participated in humanitarian missions with volunteer organisations in Africa. Until recently, he was also President of the Greek Mountaineering Association of Thessaloniki. Two years ago, he was elected City Councillor and appointed Deputy Mayor for Social Policy, Solidarity and Welfare. His main duty is to provide citizens with a network of social policy and welfare structures aimed at improving their quality of life. In addition to the e-government services used by the Municipality, his Department also utilises Telehealth and Telecare to upgrade healthcare delivery. He is married and has two children.
