The conference takes place as the European Social Network marks a significant milestone—25 years of dedication, progress, and excellence as a Network. The Vocal Line choir will open the ESSC with an unforgettable performance, setting the stage for an inspiring and dynamic event.

Vocal Line is a modern a cappella choir with 32 singers, conducted by Jens Johansen. The choir was formed in 1991 in Aarhus and has declared its goal to be a frontrunner in the development of rhythmic choral singing, both nationally and internationally. Over the years, Vocal Line has constantly sought to push the boundaries of a cappella music, aiming for an ever higher musical level. Vocal Line is rooted in the Danish choir tradition. From this foundation, the choir has developed a strongly personal style with elements of pop, rock, and jazz. Throughout Vocal Line’s 33-year existence, the choir has gained great recognition across Europe and large parts of the rest of the world, and the choir can also boast of having won several major international awards. In 2014 the choir had the honor of performing with The Rolling Stones at Denmark’s largest non-profit festival  – The Roskilde Festival – and in 2015, they gave a TV-broadcasted concert at the foot of Cristo Redentor in Rio de Janeiro, reaching 180 million viewers.
