Biography

Kirsten Dewaelheyns is an innovator in social policy, guiding local governments in tackling complex challenges. As the project leader of Lokaal Signaal, she supports municipalities in developing the tools and processes to identify social needs and improve services.

With a background in education, agogics, and digital inclusion, she has extensive experience in designing impactful solutions to address inaccessible services and digital inequality. She applies process facilitation and service design to co-create human-centred and innovative services with local governments and partners.

Previously, she laid the foundations for Antwerp’s e-inclusion policy and supported local governments in Flanders in implementing digital inclusion initiatives. Her work combines strategic insight with a hands-on approach, always striving for maximum societal impact.
