Biography

As the Head of Social Affairs in Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city, Lotte Henriksen is a driving force in developing and implementing innovative social initiatives. Lotte has held this position since 2013. She is a member of the National Council for Mental Disorders and Mental Health. Additionally, Lotte is a former member of the Danish Parliament.

With her commitment to creating value for citizens, Lotte Henriksen’s leadership relies on the principles that we must ground our understanding of value on ‘lived life’ and that public welfare is best created together – by mobilising citizens, civil society, and businesses. She plays a central role in initiatives such as “Staircase to Staircase” and “BRUS,” both of which were presented at the international ESSC conferences in 2022 and 2024.

Lotte Henriksen’s commitment extends beyond Denmark’s borders. For many years, she has been an active member of the European Social Network (ESN), where she has shared her extensive knowledge and experience to promote best practices and social innovation across Europe.
