Biography

Pilar Aranda, born in Girona in 1977, holds a degree in Law from the University of Girona.
As a career civil servant at the Catalan Government, in 2001 she started working as a jurist for the Catalan Department of Justice. In 2002, she was appointed Secretary of the Commission for Free Legal Assistance of Girona, a role that allowed her to establish a direct relationship with various judicial officers. She has also worked as a conciliatory lawyer.
Since 2014, she has provided services at the Child and Youth Care Service of Girona, reporting to the Directorate General for Child and Youth Care, first as a lawyer specialised in childhood and, for the past few years, as head of the Child Care Unit.
She has coordinated the Barnahus Strategy in Catalonia since March 2025.
