Renzo is a doctor and a Specialist in Family Medicine by profession. He is also a certified trainer in family medicine and forms part of the Executive Board of the European Academy of Teachers in General Practice and Family Medicine (EURACT). He occupied the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Primary Healthcare Department within the Ministry for Health in Malta for four years and since 2019 he is the CEO of the Active Ageing and Community Care Department within the Ministry for Health and Active Ageing. The department is constantly expanding its services and is responsible for the delivery of 30 community services for the elderly, among them social work support services, clinical services like domiciliary nursing and caring services, and non-clinical services like the Home Handyman Service, Active Ageing Centres, and the Telecare on the Move service.
